Military Service

The current military evidence for James A. or John A. Dupree is the 1930 census, which lists him as a Civil War veteran. No service or pension file has yet been tied to him in this page's source set, so the page should not assign a unit or fuller service chronology until that record is found.

Sources still needed

  • A 1920 census record for James A. and Emma Lee Dupree, or a documented negative search note from alternate spellings and nearby counties.
  • Civil War service or pension record for James A. Dupree. The 1930 census marks him as a veteran, but no service file has been tied to him.
  • Primary marriage records for Lula Dupree Jones, Janie/Jamie Dupree Croft, and Annie Lizzie Dupree Cone. Current married-name identifications rely partly on cemetery or family-tree material.
  • Adult trail or death/burial record for Joseph Dupree, who appears in 1880 but has not been traced further.
  • Direct proof for Henrietta Dupree after the 1900 household.

June 14, 2026 continuation check: A targeted FamilySearch search for James A. Dupree with wife Emma and a 1920 Georgia residence did not produce a clean match for the couple. The visible hits were either the already-known Emma Lee Dupree death record or younger, unrelated Dupree men. No Civil War service or pension record, child marriage record, Joseph continuation, or Henrietta continuation surfaced in this pass.
