Military service

This section documents people connected to Barney whose military service can be supported by surviving records. It begins with the Civil War generation and will expand as other conflicts are researched.

Civil War soldiers

The Civil War soldiers page brings together the names found in Barney-area records, identifies documented service, and separates it from leads that remain under review.

The list includes Confederate veterans and searches for possible United States Colored Troops service. A name, age, or same-name military record is not treated as proof by itself.
