Current findings

The 1900 household is secure and rests on the original census image. It does not yet carry forward into later records with confidence.

Follow-forward work has not yet produced a defensible later identification for either Daisy or Minnie. Two 1920 Valdosta candidates were reviewed during earlier work. Minnie Williams, a Black, single, twenty-two-year-old roomer and maid on South Patterson Street, remains only a loose possibility because no Brooks County tie, no connection to Daisy, and no clear path back to the 1900 household has been found. Minie Davis, a White, single, twenty-two-year-old nurse on Petters Street, can be ruled out on race and household context. No marriage record, death record, cemetery record, or later census record has yet been found that securely links back to Daisy and Minnie of this household.

Connections to Other Barney Families

  • This household belongs in the same local Black Rountree cluster as HH#115, HH#120, and HH#122 by surname, race, and close geographic placement in 1900 Barney.
  • No direct record has yet proved the exact kinship between Daisy's household and the other Black Rountree households nearby.

Open Research Questions

  • The 1900 census image confirms Daisy's birth month and year as September 1881; some online index views appear to misread that detail and should not control the entry.
  • Daisy and Minnie still need a confident 1910 follow-forward placement.
  • Minnie still needs a documented marriage, death, or later census record that ties her back to Daisy.
  • The broader Rountree cluster remains a contextual connection only until a direct relationship record is found.

Research Status

Source-exhausted online for now. The 1900 census image gives a solid household identification and clarifies Daisy's birth as September 1881, but no later record has yet been found that securely identifies Daisy or Minnie. Earlier review of two 1920 Valdosta candidates did not produce a defensible match, and no burial, marriage, or death record has yet closed the household. Further progress will likely depend on additional county-level records, better follow-forward evidence, or a direct later-life record for Minnie.
