Henry B. Culbreth

Back to the Foster Profiles index

Henry B. Culbreth was a North Carolina-born naval-stores worker employed by J. McNeil & Company near Hahira. A Masonic memorial says he came from Cumberland County about 1889, worked for his cousin James T. McNeil, became ill on October 16, 1894, and died at McNeill's residence on October 24. His brother T. G. Culbreth carried the remains to Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The available census and family evidence makes Henry B. Culbreth the strong-probable identity of the man in the Hahira notices. A direct record tying all the identity details together has not been found.

Culbreth belongs to the wider McNeill business network. No source places him at Foster or in Land Lot 227. The full evidence and source list appear in the Passmore and Culbreth business-network dossier.
